“A closer-to-home alternative to Dell”

written by on 01/06/2015

The delivery was so swift; the whole process took just under 5 working days from placing the order through the website to the delivery by DPD. I planned the whole process to take 7 working days in hope that it would be delivered during the school holidays. Just wow...

The laptop itself, an Optimus IV/V though performs has exceeded my expectations by miles.

The only disappointing thing about the website was the lack of RAM configurations. My son said that having two RAM modules work faster than one module on its own and the only available option at the time was to go for a more costly 2x8GB setup; I would have preferred 2x4GB. Additionally, although this is minor, the website is inconsistent with the model I purchased: some parts say "Optimus V" whereas others say "Optimus IV" and that left me a little perplexed.

The only minor issue I'm having with the new laptop itself is that its headphone port does't output anything even when it detects something is plugged in and the on-board ONKYO speakers auto-switch off. I'm more-than-convinced PCS will help me through this.

If you're looking for a custom-made desktop/laptop, but don't want to be forced in with some things to the liking of other similar builders like Windows 8, I would say it is unwise to leave PCS's stone unturned because you WILL find more options and flexibility to play and tinker with to get your ideal setup.
