A friend a I just crossed South America from North to South (12,000 km) with those two little Suzuki GN 125 and they were amazing! Everybody told us we were crazy not to buy a big BMW as every rider does but we did not regret at all! We bought them new in Quito, Ecuador and the only problems we had during those 3 months were burned candles (mainly due to the altitude in Peru).
In addition, the GN125 is incredibly easy to ride for beginners: I had never ride before this road trip and I mastered the moto after 2 or 3 days.
