Recently hired a car after getting a price via skyscanner. Easirent came up with a great price and unlimited milage so i went for it.
Things started to appear not as they seemed during the online purchasing. The online system seems to be simple up until the point you buy. Once you buy they hit you with the reality of what they are offering.
After buying they then hit you with the excess... £1250 to be deducted from your credit card as an excess!!! unless you pay EXTRA.
There were 4 options - no cover, £500, £100 or no excess. The price it quoted online was £15 per day for no excess - for for my 4 day hire it would be an extra £60! i selected this extra as i guessed they were cowboys and wanted full cover.
Went to pick up the car and my selection for no excess hadn't been added... so went to add it and it was now £22 per day £7 more a day- so i opted for the £100 excess at £16 a day. It also stated on the website that each car came with £30 of petrol... doesn't mention that you have to pay for this and return empty - regardless as how obvious that might seem. Car was a focus or similar - was given similar - a rubbish citreon.
The whole outfit just seemed dodgy, underhand and downright misleading. The staff at pick up were actually fine and sympathised with my concerns.
Overal - totally misleading and will never book from this company again
