“Archaic systems and dreadful customer service”

written by DawsonMcKinnon on 16/05/2015

I have a credit card with BOS. I tried to change my address, but you can only do it by going to a branch or writing a letter including an original utility bill. I don't live near a branch, so the only other option is to write a letter. When I suggested that this was a little archaic I was told that this is a very safe method of doing things. They wouldn't agree that it was archaic, and suggested that their underwriters have sanctioned this process as secure. This was after the third attempt at contacting them by phone - the first time I was on hold for 15 minutes, the second time just over an hour, and I finally spoke to someone on the third attempt.

If you'd like really poor customer service AND really archaic systems then the Bank of Scotland is for you!
