“Beware! £180 to recover a car 10 miles”

Car broke down at roadside 10 miles from home. Properly serviced and maintained.

They turned up after 50 mins, but were not up to releasing the park brake, so they told me that they needed a special recovery vehicle which would be £180.

Three and a half hours after first calling in a high arm recovery vehicle turned up (is THAT special?) and took my vehicle home. What is the point of breakdown cover if they do this?
