“Appalling company!”

I ordered a wooden playhouse through their website with a expected delivery time of 18 working days. I never received a phone call so I rang them on 3 occasions but they were not able to provide me with a delivery date. And they were very rude too! No apology at all! I cancelled my order and again did not hear a thing despite asking them to confirm my cancellation. Rang them again after one week and they said that the accounts department will contact me soon (yeah right!). One week later I called them again, and guess what, all of a sudden they told me that they are able to deliver now! Of course i didn't want the goods anymore as I had lost complete trust in them so I told them that I had cancelled and that they are in breach of contract due to non-delivery (I know my rights working for Trading Standards!) So I asked for my money back! Guess what! They told me that there would be a 25% charge as the goods are "made to order"! I know for fact that this is wrong and they are trying to mislead consumers into thinking that if you order "made to order" goods that you have no rights! Just to let you all know, if they are in breach if contract, you have all the rights to cancel your contract! And don't forget, always pay with credit card, the credit card company is equally liable under section 75 of the consumer credit act. So I am going through with this now as there is no hope with this company, they are just trying to fob you off for weeks on end! Appalling! I will contact their local Trading Standards Department too!
