“Call Out Fee”

What does No Call out fee really mean? I would assume touching nothing would constitute No Call Out, but apparently not. "The ASA has ruled against advertisers that claim not to charge a call-out charge but charge a ‘diagnostic fee’ if customers do not have remedial work carried out.".

You seem to be taking my Pensioner Dad to court for £60. Your engineer came out, touched nothing and said the controller needed replacing. For me, that's no work carried out? Why have No Call Out fee on your website / quotes then, if you walk in the door and charge?

Will be writing a full story about how this pans out, as there seems to be a lot of interest in the Able Group No Call out fee statement.
