“Dire customer service !”

My partner and I visited the B&Q "superstore" (they are joking ) , in Norwich on Monday of this week .
NO staff were visible as we loaded our purchases (5 products and made our way to the checkout .
ONE checkout was open but as we approached the cashier ,, a middle aged lady , left the guy she was serving and glared at us before closing the metal gate in front of where we were queuing .
We moved to a self serve checkout where after scanning 2 items the red light flashed and we needed assistance. Only then did we notice red lights were flashing on ALL the tills ! We felt sorry for the poor guy , a man in his sixties , who was red in the face and clearly very frustrated and out of his depth with the computers ,, that was until he rushed over to us and VERY rudely questioned us about what was on the screen . Half way through our explanation he rushed across and tried to sort someone else ,, our screen meantime was showing an increase of £10 more than our products should have been . When he came back and we explained the price was wrong , he was even ruder and we simply left the products and walked out following a lady who had done the same . All the red lights were still flashing ! What a surprise to hear the are closing so many stores ,, I can't think why ?
