“Can't leave no stars!!”

My Wife and I have been having trouble with the local Hermes courier for almost a year, she refuses to deliver to our house because we complained about the fact we weren't getting the items sent to us! So after complaining to Hermes they said they would get another person to deliver to us, this happened occasionally or the items went back to the sender, I now try not to buy from companies that use Hermes but that too can be hit and miss. so I have to order things from home and have them delivered to my work place, if the sender accepts additional shipping addresses?

In the latest saga, I ordered an item from scan, the shipping options seemed to suggest it would be delivered by DPD, (excellent deliveries!) but I guess that because the shipping price I paid was low they farmed it out to Hermes, for delivery to me home. for the next 2 days I checked the tracking each day it stated "Out for delivery to courier" I was at home until 14:00 the 1st day, the 2nd day someone was at home all day. on the 3rd day I contacted DPD, they contacted Hermes who told them it would be with me by 13:00, at 13:00 I contacted DPD again, this time Hermes told them there was a problem with the courier in the area and they would get someone out to deliver, no one came. I checked DPD's site today and it states " delivery failed after 3 attempts" I would like to know where they attempted to deliver, if it was my house where are the, attempted delivery cards? I have had enough but who do you complain to? from what I can see they are not part of the Postal Redress Service (I wonder why?) and so they are a law on to themselves. As someone else has said, they are good if you get the right person, at work I have no problems with their service. But at home it like Russian roulette (will I get my item or not) I guess I how have to contact both Scan and DPD and complain, maybe they can do something about the poor service I am experiencing? I have asked what it is that we have done to offend the courier hoping to find a resolution but no one from Hermes has come back to me with what we have done wrong.
