“Terrible service. ”

Placed my order on 4,January for large Wessex dining table, with sideboard, 2 leather chairs, 8 Wooden chairs with light brown pads and a Windermere corner unit. I told the salesman at the time that I needed the items for the Middle of April. I rang them after 10 weeks to see if delivery was on time. I was told that everything was here except the seat pads and table, but everything would be here for the end of March. After 12 weeks at the end of March I went into the store and saw the original salesman. He looked at my order and said someone had put on my order that I did not want items delivering until June. He put another note on the order to say I wanted delivery Asap but he was still waiting for the two items, he said he would ring me after the weekend when he had spoken to the store manager. On the Monday he rang me to say he was sorry but they were no longer making the pads for my chairs and apparently the store had been given this information two weeks ago. I could either have all wood or leather. Also he could not give me a delivery date for my table. I asked what I could do as I was planning a big family meal and had no table. He offered to lend me the show table which I at first thought was very kind, that was until he told me I would have to pay full price for the showroom table. I was not prepared to do this as I felt that once I had paid them full price I may not receive my new table. He then offered me a refund. I went into the store for my refund and saw the same salesman who apologised and took me across to another gentleman for the refund. I presume he was a manager but no one introduced him, he did not apologise and seemed disinterested when I commented on the bad service and the fact that they had quite happily taken my deposit and held it for 12 weeks. Why was it left to me to contact them about the delivery, why did no one ring me as soon as they knew there was a problem. Yes I have a refund but I now have the problem of finding a new dining set. They have just refunded me the money therefor getting rid of there problem. I would not use furniture barn again.
