“LEFT IN A PANIC”

Used Resortoppa to book our transfer from Faro airport to Portimao. They in turn arrange for Greenbus to deliver you to your destination. All went well with our journey to Portimao when the minibus was not full, but our return trip back to the airport after our holiday was a disaster. I should say, we did not have a return trip with Greenbus because their driver refused to accept our cases on the Minibus.
Besides our normal luggage we also had a bicycle case which was no trouble to the friendly helpful driver on our inbound trip, unlike the driver on the return trip, who told us that, as he already had six people on board, there was no room for our luggage.( Nowhere in their details is there any mention that they do not carry anything other than the normal luggage. The only thing they say is that there may be an extra charge for oversize luggage.)
This meant that, with the help of the lovely staff at Vista Marina Apartments, we had to quickly arrange for a taxi to take us to the airport at an extra cost of 88 euros. With sheer luck our flight was delayed, which allowed us time to get there, otherwise we would have missed our flight.
So be aware that if you are going to take anything with you other than the usual case, such as a wheel chair, golf equipment, cycle case or a larger than usual case, you will probably be left at your pickup point, have to make other arrangements and Greenbus will not give a damn.
The big problem with Greenbus is that they use Transit size minibuses that when full of passengers, do not have the room for anything other than the normal luggage. We feel especially aggrieved because we paid the extra fee for the express transfer to and from our destination.
