Often go here for a quick cut and tidy up. I expected a wait as a walk in customer, so took coffee and sandwich. I was told wait was 30 minutes by the owner, who sat me in queue by the door. Not a problem, is expected it. He was friendly and chatted a bit which I thought was nice HOWEVER 25 minutes passed and a hairdresser randomly walked over and asked who was next, at which point a girl who had entered after me stood up and was swiftly seated despite my protests. I was later asked to follow a girl who sat me in a second waiting area, where I spotted several women who had entered AFTER ME who were now AHEAD OF ME in the queue. Where's the logic there? Several women gave up waiting and left, it was a full hour and third waiting area before I was seen to! Whilst in the third waiting area the manager passed us several times and simply avoided looking at me, probably remembering how long I'd been there!
When I was finally seen to, I gathered from staff the manager often jumps on reception and randomly guesses how long the wait will be. Several hairdressers had gone off for lunch when I arrived- surely staggered lunch breaks would make sense on a busy Saturday??
The cut was basic, I'd only wanted a few layers put in but the hairdresser seemed reluctant to do too much as my hair is longish- I trusted her judgement but after an hours wait made the whole experience seem pointless! Will spend more and book an appointment elsewhere in future- people are paying money to have their hair cut, at least respect customers enough to be honest about waiting times, and have a fair waiting system!
