Bought a Apple iPad mini for my son this Christmas. Two weeks later it stopped charging. Took it back to curry,s and they said don't worry it is covered by the guarentee. I week later I get a phone call from a snobby adviser telling me they won't fix it because it as been damaged by someone. The only charger that was put into the iPad was the one they provided with the iPad. And nothing else as been anywhere near it. They offered me a replacement for it before I even see the one I took back for a price of £150.00. I refused this and asked for the one I took in to be returned. They told me the will try to get it back to me and I have not heard anything since. As far as I know they could have broke this item taking it apart and then decided to tell me it is not repairable . I have been into my local phone shop which is just a little back street Asian shop and they have told me if it was just the charging socket it is a very easy repair costing around £20.00. Currys won't and can't do that repair for me although it is a simple job. I even offered to pay for them to do it but they still refuse. Which makes me believe they have broken the item taking it apart and they are trying to blame the customer. If I could get the item back and see what they have done I could take it into my local back street shop for repair of the charger plug. But if there is more damage done by currys I have been told it won't be cost affective to repair it. As it will cost too much. Trouble is currys are stalling in returning it. Guarentee at currys is a waist of time because they will find a excuse not to repair it and try to sell you another instead.
