“Why would you want to give £500 to a salesman?”

Purely on price the door is a no-brainer as it is the exact same door that the double glazing companies use. With them you will pay £500 extra for a salesman to spout hours of drivel.
Importantly the quality of the work was excellent, at least as good as the double glazing companies teams.
Add to that a considerate, clean and careful installer and it is a great job.
By all means get the double glazing companies to show you their stuff and then compare prices for the same materials. You'll no be buying from them.
I would really recommended Value Doors very highly.
