Mercure Hotel Bloomsbury, Room 408 6 - 9 March 15. Great location between Russell Square and Holborn Tubes. The place was immaculate and modern. Just chic - not shabby! It must have been recently refurbished. The breakfast was great, the plates were hot, the staff attentive and helpful. The fresh flower arrangements in reception were amazing. I just couldn't fault it. The only downside was that the room was small and quite dark but we didn't spend much time in it apart from sleeping! We overlooked a building across an alleyway but at least we were further away from the road. You could still hear the traffic despite the double glazing but you have expect that in London. A few inconsiderate people came past our room in the early hours making a row but you can get that anywhere. We paid for it with our Tesco points so had a free weekend away which made it even better.
