“The "Get Me In " rules / service is a total disgrace”

I am a pensioner. I absentmindedly lost my Gig tickets. The tickets were a birthday treat for my wife to see her favourite band ... the plans for the whole day were planned secretly... and I had to let her down - BIGTIME ! I called GMI and Ticketmaster several times and asked them if I could take my booking confirmation with me to the event and get in that way ... even if it meant waiting for a period to see if anyone took the seats ... Ticketmaster, despite being the parent company, did not want to know at all. GMI were curt and just told me "hard luck, those are the rules, we don't handle the tickets, we are third party etc etc ". I asked them for the contact details of the ticket supplier so I could call him/her, but they efused and didn't want to know. I called the theatre where the gig was on and was put through to management ... they were very sweet, very supportive but could not help me as I had not purchased the tickets from them direct. They told me that GMI are a terrible company, cause them grief daily and are a curse on them ... they said they got loads of problems with GMI on a regular basis.. and my complaint was very common. They told me never to deal with them again because they do not offer a secure service .. I have now passed on their recommendation of "don't deal with them " to my network and by now the message must have been around the world a few times ! Regardless of their rules / way of working, what a disgusting way to treat people - let alone pensioners who can ill afford to throw away hundreds of pounds! Do you know... ? You are lucky to have got me a month after the event, because had it been nearer the time this occurred, my language and attitude would have been so,so much worse !
