I had the misfortune to book a car with Firefly at Munich Airport, through AutoEurope, for a week, beginning Sat 24th Feb 2015. The bill charged to my account bore no relation to the sum agreed. I paid €160.88 in advance for a Hyundai i40 or similar, plus I agreed to pay for a Sat Nav when collecting the car (this was advised to be approx €53.50 per week including VAT). The bill I received was for €435.27 ! The amount I had agreed to pay (€160.88), and paid in advance, was deducted from the bill, leaving me with an additional payment of €274.39, but I paid €425.27 in total.
I was upgraded, but I never requested the upgrade and at no stage was it stated that there would be a charge for the upgrade and nor was I asked to agree. Also, I specifically refused any additional insurance or options offered to me.
I believe that this is totally unacceptable, duplicitous and actually fraudulent. As I say, I did not knowingly agree to a single additional charge except for the Sat Nav, which I expected would be no more than €60 (advised it would be approximately €53.50). I had no time to argue the point on the day in Germany, as we were rushing to check in for a return flight.
