This is the first review I have ever written a review. I have had Avast for 3 years and it was due to be renewed on 4-1-15. In December they notified me my protection would end in December unless I renewed immediately. I called to inquire and was told I needed to renew immediately and the new renewal date would be 4-1-16. I agreed to that. THEN the agent said he needed to remove something from my computer that was blocking the renewal protection and that process would cost $179. When I objected to that, he said he could actually do it for $119. I refused, and he said then I couldn't be protected and bad bad bad things would be happening to my personal information. I told him to cancel my subscription, and I followed that up with a "ticket" reporting my experience to Avast. I also deleted all my billing information from my profile.
Today I receive an e-mail saying it will be automatically renewed and charged to my credit card. I have disabled the "automatic renewal" option. I will NEVER subscribe to Avast again.
