“India PMGY Review”

I stayed in Delhi on the medical programme. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, and the accommodation was good - good facilities and friendly atmosphere. The food served at the house was also amazing - very healthy and reasonably varied - and not too spicy which is a plus, especially when catering for large numbers of people and varied tastes!
I liked how the placement varied reasonably often, so you had the chance to see a range of different things, and move if you didn't like a placement. The programme was well organised, with good transport to and from the placement.
The host family also genuinely wanted the volunteers to get the max experience, organising extra trips for us such as cinema and monkey temple visits.
The cost of the programme is obviously more than if you travelled round India yourself, but I think that having the host family to help us took a lot of stress out of the trip - the most suitable hotels, and trains booked for us etc. We were also able to leave thurs night on a few occasions, to get a longer trip.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience!
