After opening an account with Littlewoods and ordering a few items I was well impressed. Ordering was easy and delivery was hasty. I was telling everyone how good Littlewoods was.
I received my first statement and paid the requested amount off in full using my debit card on the day the statement was issued. I thought it was a good idea to set up a direct debit just incase I ever forgot to pay manually.
I recieved a email saying my January statement was ready, I paid a little over the amount requested on the day. 23 days later and I receive an email saying Ive defaulted and I've been charged £15 for non payment. I checked my bank to find a returned Direct Debit from littlewoods for the statement account. I keep a little surplus money in my bills bank account every month but not enough to cover a double payment.
I rang littlewoods and asked for it to be sorted immediately, I paid more than was requested and then littlewoods proceed to take another payment 23 days later. This is apparently how it works. What company issues an invoice, takes payment and then tries to take payment again. How can I be chareged a non payment fee when I paid the amount requested.
I am now extremely worried about my mortgage application due to this default. I bank with my mortgage provider. I have sent 4 emails to littlewoods and have not heard a peep. Only a phonecall every other bloody day asking if I want to spread my payments over a longer term, to which customer services put the phone down after I tell them im it will cost me in interest.
I am absolutely outraged at this absolute circus, stay well away from this company. I cannot put into words how much LITTLEWOODS has annoyed me. I am currently pursuing this case through the Direct Debit Guarantee and the Finacial Obudsman along with Royal Mail Recorded letters.
Just search littlewoods and see for youself their Facebook account is full of angry customers and their 1.4 Rating on Reviewcentre.com says it all.
CIRCUS!
