I ordered flowers to arrive for my mother's birthday on 16th February. I clearly selected this delivery date when it asked me 'When would you like these flowers to arrive?'
The flowers arrived a day late, with no apology from Customer Service. I explained that I would not have paid for these flowers had I known they would not arrive on the selected day. I was told 'your confirmation email says that the flowers can arrive a day either side of your preferred date'.
So, you select a date, pay for it, and THEN they tell you that it might not arrive then. Right. I wouldn't mind this when ordering most other products online, but many people buy flowers for a specific occasion, often to arrive on a specific date, so I think it is particularly important that they make this clear. Don't give people the option of selecting a particular day if all products will actually arrive at some point in a 3 day window.
When they arrived, the flowers were of average quality. Perhaps I was unlucky and most people's flowers arrive on the day they asked for them, but from now on I will be paying a bit more to get nicer flowers and a guaranteed delivery date from somewhere else.
