“Small selection, nice condition, good levels”

They seem to have a reasonably small selection of vintage Italian wine from the “Big” years, having lived in Italy for a number of years I felt this would be a thoughtful gift for my husband who id half Italian. This was a tad risky as he is very knowledgeable about his Chianti. The wine purchased was a 1975 Castello di Mugnana, he was very happy indeed and decided to open it, the wine was decidedly old smelling and quite a lot of sediment was in it, we decanted ours passing it through a fine sieve which worked well. To say it is an interesting drinking experience is putting it mildly, we did enjoy it and my husband enjoyed it more knowing it was made the year he was. I think this idea is very powerful and I recommend this idea to others, just be careful when serving.
