“Do not trust this company”

After much researching we decided to book a break to Rome we found through Ice Lolly site which led us to Super Escapes

I called and quoted the reference and the guys on the line. First tried to offer me another hotel at £100 more expensive saying it was int he same location as the one we had called about - lies, was around an hour drive away. I checked on Google maps when he gave me the name. When i said this he offered me another hotel which was still £100 more expensive. saying there were only 3 seats left. I asked if we could go back to the hotel i had called about

He then tried to persuade me to travel to Stanstead. I informed him this wasn't possible and could we go back to the deal i had called about again

he then tried to offer me "better flight times" saying flying from manchester at 14:20 (having researched i knew the only time of flight was 6:30am on this day) but the price again was £100 more then original deal i had seen. I said this to him and said that he could book us on the 6:30am flight. He took our details and card details. saying that payment would be verified and we would receive a call back. He couldn't give a reference ???

As English clearly isn't the speakers first language a lot of what i now see as suspicious was passed for bad mobile signal / understanding.


An hour later we received a call from "Jones" who said they had tried our card 5 times and it had declined and that it was probably something to do with our address (please see a very similar review below). He checked our address and said that he would have to cancel our holiday. I asked for them to try the card again he said that this was not possible as would then "totally block the card", whatever that means???

I asked why haven't you asked for another card instead. he said that because they had tried so many times our passenger names were now blocked and couldn't proceed.
i asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, apparently he was the line supervisor - in which case this company need a serious re-train on customer service and how generally to be polite. And his manager was not available and he was not able to give out his name to me. I asked for him to arrange a call back and he "very kindly" offered me a number 01386 298 003 - funnily enough just seems to ring out

I called my credit card issuer who said that no-one has tried to take payment from my card and if it was an issue with the address, name etc they would have record of an attempt. We cancelled the card to be safe as dont like the idea that this now blatant rubbish company have my details.

Would be interested to know if the 5* reviews below are real or the company's attempt at recovery PR
