I've just returned from an eye test at Boots Opticians Bexleyheath, this is my second routine visit in 2 years, previously prescribed glasses from Specsavers 4 years ago for reading and computer use.
When booked my appointment online but when I arrived my booking wasn't on the system so the manager rushed me through the first tests so that I could be slotted in between two other appointments, although he was very apologetic about the mess up on the booking I did feel a bit of a nuisance as I was rushed from one seat to another, upstairs downstairs and everywhere in between.
The manager then proceeded to complete my eye test himself and turned out I needed new lenses, I was once again rushed downstairs to the shop and handed over to another member of staff to pick out frames, at no point was I informed I had an option to come back another day or take my perscription elsewhere nor was I informed at any point that I needed to pay upfront for the glasses until I asked.
The lady who assisted in my choice of frames wasn't very helpful in that she stood next to me whilst I looked without providing any advice and adding pressure to me feeling like I needed to pick and buy there and then.
I've now got home and realised I've been robbed of £100 after feeling pressured in to buying a new pair of glasses there and then. God knows what I've actually ordered or if I even need them!
