“THE ACTIVITY SUPERSTORE IS HOPELESS”

Gift Ideas for Two - Regional Theatre or West End Show Voucher
Received theatre ticket voucher for £50 as a gift and was pleased initially until we tried to use the voucher. Firstly you cannot take advantage of the many special offers that are available where the discounts can easily exceed the value of the voucher. the tickets must be full price.
Then you find that only a few shows are ever available at any one time. I have tried to book two shows
(1) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - I found the tickets at more than £50 discount on Love Theatre (brilliant site) but of course couldn't use the voucher so phoned ATG but still no joy; they passed me on to the Activity Superstore who didn't have the seats that we had seen were available but wouldn't give the discount anyway. Needless to say we bought the tickets from Lovetheatre.com.
(2) The Nether - at the Duke of York Theatre which is on the list with the voucher. Surely this can't go wrong. Also wanted Thursday matinee so in line with the booking restriction of Mon-Thurs. So far so good! Full price tickets were available (lots of them) at £35 each so off we go to get £70 of tickets for £20 using the voucher. WRONG!!! This show is apparently not on the list of shows that we can use the vouchers for because it is too new.....
Activity Superstore have now sent us a list of the six shows that we can book using their voucher. We have seen four of them already (including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels)and we don't want to see the other two.
The voucher expires in two days time. Never mind, "for an additional £20 we can extend it for another 6 months"
It's a shame for the loved ones who paid £50 for a thoughtful gift but they might as well have torn up a £50 note and flushed the bits down the toilet.
