“Happy to ignore Irish law very disappointing.”

written by Niall3R on 25/01/2015

Amazed that when I returned an Xbox controller and after the staff said it was faulty .I was then told I had to deal with Microsoft myself to get a replacement .I argued the point that under Irish law that my contract was with the supplier and that they should be the one to repair or replace it .Their ignorance or maybe arrogance did not allow them to give me a valid answer all they did was repeat the same line that I should contact Microsoft .I contacted Microsoft after a lot of automated phone calls finally found out that the controller would have to be sent off and could be gone for up to 28 days .The console, games and Xbox live came to 470 Euro with one controller and now due to a faulty controller my 14 year old son will be unable to play this expensive piece of kit for up to 28 days.
Even though it will cost me I have decided to go to the small claims court and I will never enter Smyths toys again.
