“Unexpected Extra Costs”

Three weeks all inclusive in hurghada in Egypt at Mamlouk Palace. Lovely resort with own, beach big pools, nice rooms and great food. The resort was clean safe and friendly. The majority of staff were extremely friendly and that enhanced our holiday. Should have been 5 star but for experience with reception on check in and check out.

The start and end of your holiday is very important. When we checked in the hotel demanded an additional payment of £175 sterling as we were staying on new years eve. Having paid in advance for the hotel and no notification of extra cost this had a big impact on our spending money. The new years eve meal was nice but having already paid it was no way worth that amount of money for a couple.

On check out we went to pay for a meal we had in their steak house but they wanted extra money for another meal we had in the Indian. We had paid cash. They couldn't sort it out quickly and our transfer bus was delayed 30 minutes. Staff took my bags and partner off the bus which was very embarrassing only to be told eventually yes we had paid. Aweful end to holiday.

Low cost holiday price was not real price so unfair as in real terms we had to pay more. Had we wanted to spend more we could have picked a different hotel. Very poor.
