I live locally to Brent Knoll, Sanders (now Wyvale) garden centre and have regularly bought bags of coal there whilst shopping for plants etc. Before Christmas the coal we use was £7.99 a bag with an offer of 2 bags for £15. After Christmas we went to pick up the same bags and the notice read SALE bags Was £9.99 now £7.99. I pointed out to the lady on the till that they had never been £9.99 to my knowledge and she promised to bring this to the Managers attention. The next week the same notice was there so I asked to speak to the Manager. He more or less said take it or leave it and looking at a screen told me I was wrong, the bags were £9.99. He wouldn't show me the screen!I apologised and said I was only trying to point out something which may have gotten them into trouble with trading standards.
I feel very ripped off and now would question all their pricing. I'm happy to pay a fair price for items but this experience will stop me from ever shopping there again because I couldn't trust them
The Managers attitude was patronising and condescending, telling me I'd better buy it somewhere else then !!!!! If his bosses read this perhaps they can offer him training in people skills
