Usually good service and product
... not always!
I have sent a lot of flowers through Interflora to Japan where my son was working and have always received photos of the family holding them, as they always have a camera to hand in Japan, and know, from my son that they have always been very nice. I sent from a local shop to Japan with no problems at all. Since my son is now in USA I sent flowers to the family looking after him, I checked their website this time which showed attractive detailed pics to choose from, and chose an attractive basket display. I was offered three sizes of basket and chose the premier, the largest, which was £60 and assumed, bearing in mind that I usually sent value about £50 to Japan, that they would be really nice. I was most disappointed to hear from my son that the flowers had arrived and were very small and not even as tall as the wine bottle on the table, as he put it, and not exactly a good display. I think he felt rather embarrassed that the family's hospitality had been so good and I had sent a rather meagre basket, despite the fact that it was one of the most expensive general gifts on the website, and at £60, bearing in mind my knowledge of foreign deliveries, I expected it to be reasonably special. I complained to Interflora, who told me that the three different sizes offered are all, in fact, in the same size basket - obviously small - but have different stem counts to denote the small, large or premier basket. They offered no more than this comment and checked with the shop that the correct stem count had been done for the premier, most expensive one. I had always sent to Japan with total confidence, but felt quite embarrassed that I was probably thought to have sent a cheap gift, when I intended to send something looking quite special. It certainly will make me think twice about using Interflora again, certainly for foreign deliveries.
