“Excessive Delivery cost”

I sent for a small item only costing about £4 but as soon as I put my post code in, the delivery cost came out at about £9. When the item came, it was by royal mail and should only have cost £3.20.
I only went ahead with this purchase because it was the only place I could find the particular item I wanted & will not be using this company again.
