“worcester exploitative near monopoly”

3 yrs ago my plumber fitted a Worcester greenstar Ri boiler - his recommendation & cost me £3000. There have been various small probs despite regular servicing and on the 28 December 2014 with freezing temperatures at night it has failed completely. He can't fix the problem as he does not have the parts (thinks it is the fan).
The Worcester call out fee is £365 pre-pd on phone. Engineer will call tomorrow (another freezing night) "sometime' before 1pm.

My old system lasted 34 yrs and there was never an event like this. I wish I had never heard of Worcester. They seem to have monopolised the boiler market & local guys do not have the wherewithal to do repairs.This seems. corrupt to me. I am nearly 70 alone & not in good health & have no other form of heating..and feel my welfare is in the hands of a money grabbing monolithic company selling unreliable boilers. Think twice before you deal with Worcester.
