Thought I was buying a fridge freezer from Debenhams and realised it would cost £25 more than Coop Electrical but it was an emergency. Didn't realise until after check out that perhaps Debenhams and Debenhams Plus weren't one and the same company. Only bought from them as they said could deliver on Monday until I had checked out and went to delivery slot and earliest day was Tuesday. Delivery info relating to this item showed it was coming from Appliances Direct. Checking their website it was on sale for £20 less than Debenhams Plus charged me. I have contacted them for an explanation and they have ignored me!
I would have been prepared to pay the extra to have had it on the Monday as advertised. To add insult to injury on the Monday I received a phone call purporting to concern my delivery but it was a veiled attempt to get me to buy an extended warranty. This has been followed 5 days later with an email trying to get me to do so again. It has made me feel I don't want to buy anything further from Debenhams.
I must say the delivery company was very professional. My guess is that the extra £20 was to cover the amount Appliances Direct charge for delivery despite Debenhams Plus advertising free delivery. The sooner the Advertising Standards Agency investigates this company the better.
