“Variable”

I am just back from 15 nights in Egypt on a Travel Interaction holiday from Travelzoo. Overall the holiday was good value but there were shortcomings hence only 3 stars. The trip was 2 nights in Hurghada, 7 nights on MS Emilio on the Nile and 6 nights in Hurghada.
We were advised the coach from Hurghada to Luxor would take 4 hours but it took over 7 hours and I had some concerns about the state of its tyres. I believe we spent too much time collecting other hotel passengers in Hurghada! However we were provided with a 90 min horse and coach tour of Luxor as compensation. The return was done in 4 hours.
The Nile tour was excellent - I could not fault it, other than drink prices were high. Rooms, food,sun roof, pool were well above average and the staff very attentive.
Wish I could say the same about the AMC Royal Hotel in Hurghada. Crockery was chipped, cracked or in short supply. We had to take the beakers from the bedroom down for breakfast - the cups(no saucers) were unhygenic. Shortage of plates at the Beach Restaurant meant we had to wait for them to be washed before we could serve ourselves. A very noisy Animation Team and small grounds meant there was nowhere to go for peace and quiet. Excellent room and the Shower was probably the best I have had anywhere.
As I said at the beginning excellent value for money, and would have got more stars but for the shortcomings.
