“Disgusting poor service by RAC”

Last week the tyre on our car blew out while my son was driving it. He was doing 70mph on the M1 during rush hour. He was lucky that he is an experienced driver and managed to get onto the hard shoulder. He waited 2 and a half hours for the RAC to come out. It was far too dangerous to be sitting in the car so he stood at the side of the road in the pouring rain freezing. He was also understandably very shaken up. Then the RAC charged an extra £105 as they said it was an accident not a breakdown. They would not come out unless he agreed to pay although we have breakdown cover and recovery despite the danger of being on the motorway. We have made a complaint about this disgusting service and the poor treatment he received.
I would not recommend them to anyone ever!
