“Closing... and it's a big mess!”

Nothing is shipping. The orders are just sitting there. I've ordered many Christmas gifts, my funds are all tied up and I am worried sick. You are not allowed to cancel or get a refund while the orders are pending. The U.S. operation is closing down and nothing is happening at Vente-Privee.

It took me forever to find a number to get customer service because they've hidden the number on the website. Finally, I was able to get someone on the line who explained that they are trying, but terribly behind. She then promised that I'll get my money back if the items are unavailable. I said that I do not want to wait until a few days before Christmas to get a refund and then have to go out to find last minute gifts. All she did was to apologize and insist that if things didn't pan out, I would be sure to get my money back. I could tell from her tone that this would be the probable outcome.

Was the final Winter sales a ploy to get money in, with little or no intention to ever ship the merchandise? It certainly appears that way. I have over $3000.00 tied up in pending orders. I smell a class action lawsuit coming.
