Absolute farce - because of problems and delays using the branch Halifax recommended using their Internet Banking service where I would get 24/7 365 days service and all from the comfort of my home. Then drawn into their ISA accounts which they dont tell you at the time, but anything regarding closing you need to go into the branch oh and dont expect to be able to read statements all the time, because these invariably disappear behind week long error messages blaming their system. Try to phone and go through a real automated grilling only to be cut off, so need to just find a way to get onto their switchboard and speak to a real person! I feel sorry for their front line staff who must go home with stress levels through the ceiling?
At the end of the day it's our money and we should expect to access it according to the customer needs and convenience and not their antiquated policy requirements. Remember jolly Howard the face of Halifax for 8 years who was axed for being too jolly well they now need to employ Jack Dee!
As accounts mature will be moving on cos yep Halifax do give you "Xtra" only its poor service, antiquated systems and policies that only serve Halifax. Sermon ends
