“Inaccurate delivery times quoted and unhelpful staff”

Ordered a sofa in the middle of September and was told by staff in the shop that it would be delivered by end of November. As it is nearly the end of November now I rang the store at Silverlink to give me some idea of when to expect its arrival. Staff said it's not due in from the distributor until 3rd December. I know that may not seem like much of a delay but the fact that their adverts on the TV at the moment say you can order now and still have delivery before Christmas is baffling. How can it take over 10 weeks for my sofa but then they push out all the stops to get other sofas in within 4 or 5 weeks? I ordered a carpet at the same time as my sofa. I wanted this for the nursery which is yet to be decorated as baby not due until end of January. Asked if I could have this fitted in the new year but the sales person said it would only take 2 weeks from ordering to fitting it and they are not prepared to store the carpet for me. Decided to still order the carpet but get it fitted in another room which needed a new carpet. Remembering that was middle of September when ordered and was told expect it in 2 weeks, well that was not fitted until end of October. The carpet is nice but they are completely unrealistic with the delivery times they quote in store! If you order from them do not expect staff on the phone to be helpful when chasing your order up.
