Having purchased a new UK domain name I received an email advising me that I would receive a further email requesting details to validate the account. It stated that if I did not carry out the validation the account would be suspended.
Three weeks later I still had not received the validation email. I checked back through all my emails and them logged on to my email filter and checked through the 2000 blocked emails there, a dozen or so had been blocked for no obvious reason, but no sign of the missing email.
I phoned support and waited in the queue for over 10 minutes for a staff member. When I did get through the staff member had to put me on hold while he looked into it.
Eventually he came back to tell me that I hadn't been sent a validation email at all since Nominet had validated my new account without contacting me!
What a waste of time!
If the original email had pointed out this might have been the case all this would have been unnecessary.
The staff member was very helpful and friendly but I feel his time, mine and the costs involved were all wasted.
