My Dad paid £125 for a 15 minute Truck Experience. We live a 45 - 50 minute drive from the venue and arrived nice and early for her time slot. We were expecting a 10 min briefing, and 15 minute experience. My Mum is a 64 year old professional but only every driven small cars. When we arrived the booking in was simple. The weather wasnt great and we were out doors pending our slot (rather cold, as we came unprepared as were we unaware of the settings).. Mum got called quicker than her slot, which we were ok with. A car picked us up and took the truck experience, by this time Mum us nervous, but excited.. We were introduced to our instructer, he didnt seem impressed that there was 4 of us and advised it will be a squeeze (the package states driver + 3 observers).. He advised that we would take photos after the experience. We all clamber into the truck.. Mum's nerves are now kicking in.. She was asked if she had any experience with driving trucks and had she driven an automatic before, answer to both was a no.. then the experience starts.. As the was no briefing the instructions given were not fully understood, and some occassions it felt like Mum was being told off.. I tried to interpret what I thought the instructor was asking her to do. But with her nervous his lack of briefing and his then tone she was close to tears.. When we finished there was no time for photos as the next client was waiting for their go.. What should have been a once in a lifetime birthday treat was disappointing. I did share my views on the day and there was very little interest..
