I've just removed Avast after finding it was the cause for my entire computer freezing and me having to reboot it, which was really great in the middle of gaming! Not to mention the hassle of re-registering the free version when 90% of the links on Avast's website came up as not being able to be found! Really, for a free version, re-registration shouldn't be needed anyway. I've now installed a AVG and it found a Trojan that was not picked up while Avast was running.

I'm not sure any free anti-virus is the best option but the pricing of most rules them out for a lot of people who therefore consider there is no other choice! I've had Norton and Trend before, both failed me dismally. This was about to be my 4th year of Avast but the current version and issues are not worth staying with it
