Despite meticulously measuring (to the mm) my window in the 3 recommended places (top, middle and bottom), the blind arrived constructed too short to use with wall-mounted side-fixing brackets. Unfortunately I didn't realise this until the brackets had been fixed to the walls. Incidentally the supplied wallplugs were literally useless and were changed to a multipurpose plug. After much frustration, subsequent calls to the Tuiss Customer Service Team were met with really quite abrasive verbal responses. The attitude was that the faults were all mine, and no apology was offered.
On pursuing this, it seems that Tuiss always make the blind housing shorter than the slats, even when you tell them that your window is wider at the top than the bottom (ie when tiled at base). (...Why is this not stated on the site??)
All of these issues could have been prevented if the "instructions" actually were a little more helpful. I found these extremely rudimentary and they carried no information on some key points like what drill size to use - also there is no caution about how the brackets will need to be baton-mounted in cases like mine. Self-explanatory perhaps, but we are not all advanced diy-ers.
Subsequently I did receive a more considered response from a senior member of the technical department, however was left feeling that Tuiss prefer to stick to their fairly simple approach and found it difficult to take on board the points I raised.
This experience has led to me marking Tuiss down in this case, however the overall quality of the blind and slats appears good.
Beware!!
