Just over a year ago I bought patio door perfect fit blinds and a bathroom roller blind. The agent who came to advise was very helpful and fitted the blinds well. I am delighted with the patio doors but not so with the bathroom blind. It is ok. It is thick black with a bold grey and white print on it. When it is dark it looks fine but when light the light shines through the weave and the fabric looks stressed in places and doesn't look great. Nonetheless it serves its purpose. However, the other day I noticed that it was fraying on the chain side and coming away on the other side. I also decided that I would have some more blinds fitted and wondered where to get them from. People I know have been pleased with Hilary's so I thought this might be a one off so I had a look at recent reviews on line and can't say I was particularly impressed. It seems like a mixed bag. I phoned Hilarys to ask about the fraying of the blind and said I expected it to last for about 5 years, at least longer than a year. I was told that it was out of guarantee and nothing could be done and asked did I want to buy a new one. Fair enough it was out of the guarantee but I am not paying them for a new one. So I will put Hilarys behind me and buy my new blinds from another company, probably Contours, with whom I have been impressed and my £2000 expenditure will not go to Hilarys and neither will my recommendation. It is a shame that when companys spend so much time trying to attract customers that they can't manage to keep them for fairly minor issues and if they don't up their game they deserve the competition to outstrip them!
