“Horrendous, terrible, pathetic !!”

Didn't think twice about booking through teletext holidays as they had been around for decades and I know plenty of people who have booked with them in the past. Didn't bother to check reviews because of this. Little did I know..................
The number advertised was a Glasgow dial code so you can imagine my surprise when I was put through to a call centre in India ! After checking reviews I found out they have moved their whole operation to India and they now only book through one agency.
Anything I asked for during the booking process was granted without any hassle and I was also given a payment date ( Nov 3rd )that was only 8 weeks before my departure date ( Jan 1st ) I was both surprised and happy about this. I paid my deposit and waited for the confirmation of all my holiday details. That's when the problems began. I had requested, at the time of booking, extra legroom seats. The agent told me on the phone that these had been booked for us. After numerous phone calls and countless Emails, requesting my confirmation, I was told that the extra legroom seats could not be booked until the holiday payment was settled. I then had the bombshell dropped on me that the holiday had to be paid by the beginning of August and not the beginning of November, as agreed. After more phone calls and Emails ( too many to count by this time ) I managed to get hold of a supervisor who said he would check the phone call transcripts and check what was agreed. He said he would get back in touch with me. Guess what ? No reply. I emailed and called again and was eventually told that they would honour the original payment date agreed but couldn't guarantee the extra legroom seats.
After investigating Teletext holidays reviews online I decided to cancel my holiday and was quite happy to forfeit my deposit. I just wanted to cut my ties with them. I emailed them on Sep 30th to cancel, and 3 weeks later, have still not received cancellation confirmation. I have Emailed them 8 times and phoned them 3 times and still have no confirmation. I spoke to one of their agents on Friday who told me the confirmation was delayed because the had elevated my cancellation to a higher level and were trying to get my deposit back. I called back today to find out, unsurprisingly, that this was lies !! Stay clear of this company. They are liars and their customer service is the worst I have come across in my 25 years of booking holidays. Horrendous, incompetent, hopeless, diabolical, pathetic. There are not enough negative adjectives in the dictionary to cover this outfit. STAY WELL AWAY! You have been warned.
