“AVOID ACCORD MORTGAGE !!! ”

written by on 20/10/2014

As an existing customer and wanting to have a little extra to do some home improvements thought we would ask for £3000 to go onto the mortgage. Told we couldn't do this until after I accepted a new mortgage deal so when my 2yrs fixed rate was up I renewed and would have to ring them back and ask to speak to the loan team department. Well after going through 3 yes 3 different people and spending approximately 90 mins on the phone repeatedly being asked the same questions OMFG was finally accepted provisionally as long as my wife and my statements, payslips etc were sent off to them.
Over 3 months down the line they have been dragging their bloody heels needing proof of this and that all the time. The worst was that they needed proof of my wife paying income tax as she only works very few part time hrs so instead of wanting her p60 they wanted a letter from tax office instead so I had to ring the tax office for this letter which they said could take upto 6weeks luckily only took 2weeks. The tax office told me the p60 should have been enough as this letter is just the same and are only asked for when people are self employed. I will NOT renew with accord mortgage in 18 months time when my present deal runs out because they are useless. Oh and to top off too I had to pay £1.53 to receive my returned documents to the post office because accord never put them in a prepaid envelope... They are amateurish at best... AVOID AT ALL COST...
