Been trying to open a student account with TSB. After calling them, they told me to come in at 1030 am. Went there, they then told me to come back for 3 pm. I came back a bit late, it was going on 4, but the lady then said that I couldn't be seen as the lady who I was supposed to have an appt with is getting ready to leave. Mind you the bank was supposed to be open for another hour and a half!!!
The same lady, came out the back room, put on her coat and looked straight at me, didn't even acknowledge me or have any sympathy whatsoever. So i asked the ladies at the front desk if there was any way i could have been seen as I've been waiting around town the entire day wasting my day. They said no and asked me to make another appt with them two weeks away!!
Now heres the thing, I understand that I was a half hour late. BUT if the bank is closing around 5 pm and its only 3.30 and there is NO ONE else in the bank, NO MORE APPOINTMENTS... LITERALLY IT IS EMPTY, wouldn't you make the effort to accommodate a customer who has wasted their entire day waiting on you? This employee, was at the canterbury branch, seemed to have been putting her coat on to leave work early and as she had already got ready to leave, gave me an 'oh well' attitude to all of the trouble i went through that day.
This is despicable and disappointing treatment to a loyal customer who will now be closing my account with TSB and switching to Santander. When you are running a company, it is the little things that all add up to create success. BAD SERVICE will MOST DEFINITELY lead to a failure. Which is why TSB is ranked LAST among major banks in the UK. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. THEY CANNOT GIVE A RATS TAIL TO EVEN CARE ABOUT MAKING PEOPLES DAYS MISERABLE AND NOT EVEN TRYING TO HELP A STUDENT OUT. Incompetent staff and a waste of time.
