Good Points
Quality of lens.
Various manual controls.
Sound recording for still pictures as well as movie clips.
Bad Points
Have to remove lens cap manually before switching on.
Larger than some, but fits hands nicely and smaller cameras tend not to have the same features.
General Comments
If you have used an SLR camera and want to have control over your pictures, then the Olympus C3040 camera does it all. You can still take pictures with the minimum of fuss just by switching on and pressing the button; but when you want to be more creative or need more control for difficult shoots, then the options are there on a straight forward menu.
If however you want to replace a point & shoot compact, then you'll probably not be interested in the features and go for a smaller automatic camera with no flexibility.
