“I previously owned a 1996 Toyota landcruiser colorado...”

written by maxdrobot on 26/03/2011

I previously owned a 1996 Toyota landcruiser colorado diesel manual and wont fault that car either but will say the 5 speed 2001 Shogun Di-D Equippe is just a notch better than the legendary 1996 Colorado/ Prado in terms of the pulling power, comfortabilty and stabilty on the road.

Fuel economy is great and does roughly 25km/ gallon.. and that is rough at 90 to 100 km/hour.

I bought mine with a a first gear defect which i suspect is a worn synchroniser and with 200,000km on the mileometer, never been serviced in almost a year as it was parked. With all that against it it still did over 2000 km easy across two countries and that was after sending it abroad away form the UK to a complete different climate and extreme hot conditions as it was driven through the desert. Overall a great car only fault i'd give it is the body work isnt as tough as the Prado and is therefore prone to getting dents much easier.
