Called HomeServe on a Sunday morning as we had problems with a broken toilet. The operator was very helpful and made sure it wasn't an immediate emergency before advising that the relevant sub-contractor would be in touch shortly with an ETA. 10 minutes later we got a call to arrange a mutually convenient time. The plumber was excellent. Very friendly, helpful and professional. He replaced the part and repaired a patch-up job by the previous owners, all whilst showing me how to check for problems in the future. All in, he was in the house 15 minutes and we now have a toilet which works and has also had a problem-waiting-to-happen sorted too.
The monthly charge initially seemed a bit expensive, but given the standard of this repair and the boiler service we had done (and the subsequent repairs), I would recommend it. Particularly as we have a young son and can do without any extra hassle sorting stuff ourselves. Each engineer/tradesman we have dealt with has been excellent too, sorting the parts in good time and keeping us informed.
