The interest rates are good, the "revert to" rate is good, the fees are quite low. I'm afraid thats where the good ends. I thought any problems would be reserved for those with poor credit histories, and considering I had a perfect score it would be plain sailing. How wrong I was. Tried to apply online, wouldn't work, so tried to get a branch application. three week wait, then if agreement in principle ok, then wait another four weeks for an application. Instead did it by phone, 4 hour call. Head was numb by the end of it. Passed all tests ie credit check affordability etc. Dis survey quite quickly, then wanted masses of documents, not together but as soon as I gave one they wanted another 3. Decided urls on statemnts had to be on top, instead of below statement. This was impossible but they wouldn't have it. Got my details mixed up with someone else. Spent 4 days on phone for 8 hour days. cost an absolute fortune. Eventually told me I was all good to go. Then nothing again. Advisor said they had everything, would get offer in a day or two. Nothing. Then got phone call saying they declined me, no sensible reason given. Another hour on the phone they changed their minds and passed it. stress has probably taken 10 years of our life! Nightmare ! would go to hsbc if I had my time again.
