Like many others here, I had been duped into paying for the damage excess refund. No means for me to opt out. Felt cheated.
Site claimed that there is full refund on cancellation (after complying with their T&C ). The problem is there is no avenue whatsoever online to cancel; perhaps the dreaded call to the service operator is the only means ? Btw, even if they agreed with a refund, I would hazard a guess that the company would take as long as they could to do so (rolling cash flow? )
Not worth dealing with them; any perceived rental savings are quickly and surely recovered through other sneeky and hidden charges and conditions. Expected more from a British company.
I am keen to see how my rental fiasco would pan out. Just wished more people are more informed. Feeling sore now when I am supposed to be elated planning my annual vacation.
